Global Shortcuts

Cmd+Shift+Space	Open quick capture panel

The global shortcut works from any app. It opens the quick capture panel as a floating overlay without switching windows.

The shortcut is configurable — open Settings (Cmd+,) and change it under General.

Quick Capture Panel

The quick capture panel is a floating Raycast-style overlay for saving thoughts without interrupting your workflow.

1. Press Cmd+Shift+Space from any app
2. Type your thought
3. Press Enter to save — the panel closes and the memory is stored
4. Press Esc to dismiss without saving

Captured memories are stored immediately and appear in the Covalence memory list with source capture.

Standard macOS shortcuts apply throughout the app.

Configuring the Global Shortcut

1. Open Settings with Cmd+,
2. Navigate to General
3. Click the shortcut field next to Quick Capture
4. Press your preferred key combination

The shortcut is saved immediately.
